GAINSBOROUGH JOBSEEKERS: Progress towards work

More than 60 people have been helped on their journey towards a better career after taking part in our latest jobs fair.

Our Riverside Training team has collaborated with Jobs 22 and Everyone Active at West Lindsey Leisure Centre to run the latest Job Zumba event as part of our Restart employability programme.

Around eight partners were in attendance – including Portland Training and Noble Foods amongst others – as well as representation from across Acis Group, Riverside, Acis HomePlus and CLIP.

The event included live and mock interviews, career advice and guidance, and lots of information about how to get back into the working world.

The Restart Scheme is an employability programme helping unemployed people to pick up the skills and confidence they need to get back to work.

More than 60 Restart participants across Gainsborough came along to find out more about the job opportunities on their doorstep.

Ivan, one of our Restart participants, said: “It’s been a good experience, I have been pleased with it.

“They have been helpful, and I have learnt new things.

“You pick things up here like I was talking to a lady earlier from the NHS and there are some ideas there.

“It’s good for my confidence and to find out what to do next.”

Ivan has undertaken courses like money management, first aid and IT at Riverside to help him brush up on his skills, while he also received help updating his CV.
